Overview
The Alchemer Dovetail integration uses a Dovetail API token to authenticate.
This token allows Alchemer to securely send Review Action PDFs into your
Dovetail workspace.

How to Get Your Dovetail API Credentials
1. Steps for creating your Dovetail API token
- Log in to your Dovetail account.
- In the top-right corner, click your User Profile image.
- Select Account settings.
- In the left sidebar, select API.
- Click Create token.
- Name your token (example: Alchemer Integration).
- Copy the generated API token and store it securely.
Important: Dovetail API tokens are shown only once. If you lose it, you will need to generate a new token.

Authenticate Dovetail in Alchemer
After obtaining your Dovetail API token, add it to the Alchemer Dovetail integration. Credentials are securely stored in Alchemer and can be reused across all Dovetail actions.
How to Authenticate
1. Start a New Authentication

Inside any Dovetail integration action, select New Authentication.
2. Enter Your Dovetail Credentials
Provide the following:
- Dovetail API Token
3. Save Your Authentication

Select Create.

Once created:

The authentication is saved and reusable for all Dovetail actions.

You only need to update it if your API token changes or expires.
